dc.description.abstract | Titanium and its alloys have been employed as a biomedical material due to the biocompatibility, Young module, and corrosion resistance compared to other metals. However, some Ti-Alloys have the presence of elements such as vanadium that can be toxic when interacting with body fluids provoking genotoxicity and peripheral neuropathy. This research shows the electrochemical behavior of Ti CP2, Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo, and Ti-6Al-4V. The alloys were characterized in Ringer solution at room temperature by the cyclic potentiodynamic polarization (CPP) and electrochemical noise (EN) according to ASTM G61 and G-199 standards. Two different methods were applied for EN analysis: power spectral density analysis (PSD) and wavelets. The results indicate that Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo has a lower dissolution analyzed by ψ0 in EN.
