Migration of Central Americans to the United States is not new. In fact, mass migration from the region has occurred since at least the 1970s, originating in a mixture of local corruption and imposed capitalism that has caused economic vulnerability, civil, war, and genocide. Indeed, forced migration has been, at least in part, caused by colonial structures and the enactment and legitimization of neoliberal economic policies that only look to increase the profit of the few without any esteem for most people´s lives.es_MX
